I'm 30 paintings into my "50 Project" , having set a goal for myself to paint 50 paintings in this, my 50th year. I have 5 months yet to complete the 50. Join me Weds June 12th for my Halfway Party at the Colchester Farmers Market on the Burnham Library lawn from 4 to 7 pm. I will have an impromptu exhibit and celebration of over 25 paintings completed. Our market has grown this year to 25 vendors, plus a wellness booth and info tables so come celebrate with food, music and art - a great combo! Rain or shine. I will have my booth at the market each Wednesday, 4 - 7 pm, June 12 - Sept 11 for the 2013 season. The library currently features the first 12 of my 50 paintings in their glass display case now through June 30th. I'm still updating my blog, which currently doesn't yet show many of my 30 paintings. Too busy painting, rather than typing! The photo above is from the VT Plein Air Octoberfest , just before I began my 50 paintings project. Check out the first of my 50 that appear in my blog , along with the interesting stories that go along with them. I've been taking plenty of great photos and keeping notes throughout. What great incentive for me to stay active painting plein air (out of doors) right through last winter, even though I paint in watercolors. It's great to know that, even in freezing conditions, it's possible to use watercolors plein air! All paintings are for sale. In 2011 and 2012 I participated in several Plein Air events in Vermont. In July it was the Vermont Plein Air Festival at Emile Gruppe Gallery in Jericho, VT, which had about 75 artists registered each year, with more on the waiting list. In late September, I participated in the Vermont Plein Air Octoberfest in Stowe, VT. See my blog for more photos and information about these wonderful events. I'm looking forward to painting at both of these events again this year. Saturday June 20th, 2013 is the date for the VT Plein Air Festival in Jericho. In the background, you'll see my acrylic painting "Camel's Hump Summit". The 24" x 36" original has just sold, but the companion piece, "Almost There" of the trail leading up to the top of Camels Hump, is back home with me. Email me if you are interested in it. I have giclee prints of the Camel's Hump Summit image available for sale as well through me. These prints have been beautifully reproduced (thanks to t he folks at LightWorks, now in Winooski, VT) on high quality canvas which can be stretched onto a frame if desired or matted and framed as you would for a regular print. The image is 10 x 15", with additional 2" white canvas border around whole image. I'm selling these for $95 unmatted, unstretched. I also have prints on canvas of my "View of Lake Tahoe from D.L.Bliss State Park", also $95 for a 7 1/2 x 14" print with 2" white canvas border.
